DIWALI celebration 2017

"For the wise man, every day is a festival"
                                                                               - Plutarch

Festivals are used as a tool to bring life to a state of enthusiasm and exuberance, with Diwali being one of the major festivals of India. It's celebrated as the festival of lights, as a symbol of victory of good over evil, hope over despair, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and energy over inertia.

Diwali is a time when we can dispel darkness, and bring in the light of clarity to our lives. But, realizing that nearly 30% of world's poorest children happen to be Indians. What about them? How are they going to celebrate Diwali? Will they ever be able to witness the light of knowledge and education?

We, for the very first time in our lives, learnt to value questions instead of answers, as it is through these questions JE was born, it is through these questions, we finally understood what Einstein once said,

"Those who have the privilege to know, have the duty to act"

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers for their relentless efforts as it's only because of them, we are able to dispel some darkness, and give a ray of hope to the underprivileged children around us.

Instead of bursting crackers this Diwali, let's pledge to use this festive opportunity to donate smiles on someone's face. Hoping that the significance of this pristine festival must dawn upon each one of us.

"In this life, we cannot do great things, we can only do small things with great love"

                                                                                        - Mother Teresa

Diwali or Deepa wali means an array of lights. It is a festival of lights symbolizing victory of good over evil and the glory of light.Diwali is celebrated by the Hindu people with honor and devotion. Variety of sweet dishes and other delicious dishes are prepared in the houses. People decorate their houses with candles, earthen lamps, electric bulbs, flowers but the true celebration of Diwali is when we light a lamp in the life of some poor brethren or bring some cheer into the heart of an innocent child through our kindness and generosity.

We at Junior Einstein, living up to the true spirit of Diwali festival, vowed to wipe out the prevailing darkness in the lives of such innocent children and fill their lives with bright colors of these rangolis. Our volunteers went to ASHI, Haryana - Ashiana to celebrate Diwali with children.
