CHristmas celebration 2017

Christmas

"He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree"

                                                                         - Roy L. Smith

It's to no surprise that billions of people all around the globe celebrate Christ's birthday. But, the key question is, how many of them do follow his precepts?

Mary Ellen simplifies it for the populace:

"Christmas is not a date, but a state of mind"

It's necessary to let such noble thoughts make us feel uncomfortable and trigger our veiled emotions, in order for them to precipitate as love, love which knows no boundaries, love which is the antidote to the most terrible poverty we have in our world right now, the feeling of being unloved or loneliness.

It takes courage to step out and spend some time with such people living under this poverty in places like old age homes and orphanages, and the best way for you to give yourself the greatest gift this Christmas would be to volunteer with Junior Einstein, an organisation which is driven with a similar purpose, as we truly believe in what Mother Teresa said a few decades ago,

"I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples"

Festivals are used as a tool to bring life to a state of enthusiasm and exuberance, with Christmas being one of the major festivals of India. Festivals such as these, besides offering a great opportunity to revive the sense of community in our society, also are a time when we can dispel darkness and inertia from our lives and let the light of clarity pour in.

Hoping that the significance of this pristine festival must dawn upon each one of us, we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Let's try and keep a promise this Christmas, a promise which, a century ago, Charles Dickens pledged himself to,

"I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year"
